Small Groups

Christ Church offers periodic small group discussion on topics of interest to the congregation.  Past discussions have included book studies, such as "Three Cups of Tea", topics related to general synod, lenton bible studies, and congregational conversations about our direction as a church.

Our Strategic Plan challenges us to:  Encourage and model the branching off of small interest groups that promote building relationships among people and inspire faithful growth.  We would love to hear your ideas for new groups!

So far in 2010, we've sponsored Lenten Suppers and Book Study. From February 24, 2010 until Holy Week,  the book "Covenant" by Jane Fisler Hoffman was discussed on Wednesdays.  A supper was  available at 6:00 pm just prior to the book study.  We studied "Covenant" in concert with other churches in the River Valley Covenant Cluster.  This was a timely study in the life of Christ Church as we understand more fully our church in relationship to our United Church of Christ and other denominations.  All four streams of the UCC; Evangelical, Reformed, Congregational, and Christian were  defined and explored as we continued to engage in covenant.
