We are a church that believes in putting our faith into action!
On the left side of this page, you'll find links to descriptions of some of the community agencies and organizations we work with to share our time, talent and treasure at Christ Church United Church of Christ.
Recent projects have included collecting gifts for needy children in our area, serving dinner to our neighbors in Camp Washington through the Kids Cafe and gift wrapping at Florence Mall to raise money for the Interfaith Hospitality Network. Thanks to all who have donated time and money to these causes!
Christ Church is one of the host churches within the Interfaith Hospitality Network, a Northern Kentucky organization through which churches provide lodging to homeless families. During the week that families stay at our church, we need volunteers to help serve dinner at the church, drive the van and other duties, none of which will take more than a couple hours one night during the week. Your children are welcome to come with you to volunteer. Check back here to find out which weeks we're hosting this fall. If you're interested, please sign up on the sheet in the narthex at Christ Church, or send an email to melissac (insert @ symbol here) zoomtown.com.
Once every 11 weeks, we host families who are temporarily without homes. They sleep overnight at our church for one week, returning each morning to a day center that provides them with social services. During our host week, volunteers from our church cook and serve dinner to the families, serve as dinner hosts, transport families in the van, do laundry and cook breakfast on Saturday or Sunday. In addition, each night one person stays overnight at the church so that a contact for the families is always available.
This is a vital ministry, and there are many ways to serve. Please consider helping out!
Thanks to those who helped and participated in the Fall Flu Shot Festival. We did our part to stay healthy this fall and winter, and we also helped neighbors in need. For each flu shot purchased, St. Elizabeth Hospital is able to donate on free flu shot to someone who is not able to afford it. Way to go, Chris Church! - Steph Laake
Thanks to those who walked and donated in the recent CROP Hunger Walk. We had 13 walkers and raised approximated $750. Great job!!
